As Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), we typically build significant ties to our host country. So naturally, we want to know how our host country friends and family are doing during this pandemic. But it is difficult to get coronvirus statistics for different countries. And since we tend to move around or know other RPCVs across the country, we also want to know the coronavirus statistics of different USA states.

So we created a new RPCV Health Crusade COVID-19 Statistics Map to track COVID-19 confirmed cases, deaths, and recoveries. It was not an easy ask but we again took up the challenge to stretch ourselves to meet the needs of the RPCV community.

COVID-19 Infection Map of the World

The interactive world map shows the current statistics for any country. Are you wondering how many confirmed cases versus recovered cases are in Namibia? Or, the unfortunate number of death so far in Mongolia? This map shows you those numbers.

COVID-19 Infection Map of the USA

It is the general nature of RPCVs to wander and build relationships with people in every corner of the country and globe. So we added an interactive map of the USA to show the numbers by state, territory, or concept. Since the map shows current conditions, the view and rankings changes as the numbers change.

The data can change very quickly. So the accuracy of the data is dependent on when the data was last refreshed. Accept browser cookies to display the interactive map and corresponding table. And if the reading shows “0”, there could be a glitch in the data pull so check back a little later.

Let’s Stop the Spread

Until there is a confirmed vaccine, we all need to pull together to slow the number of infections and stop the number of deaths. Please make the effort to follow the CDC guidelines to protect yourself and everyone else.

Your actions affect others. You can still infect someone else if you are infected but do not show symptoms. This is not a political situation. This is a health situation. Let’s all do our part to stop the spread.
